Foreign resident’s registration of chop and issuance of certificate of chop
Based on Law 12 Regulation 13
Registration of chop
1) When appearing in person
Foreigners:Bring alien registration card, certificate of domicile in Korea, passport Koreans with foreign citizenship who are registered with Immigration Office: Bring chop
2) When registering by the applicant’s representative
Documents to be submitted: Alien registration card, chop, certificate of chop if the chop is to be registe red by mail
※ By someone who can guarantee the applicant and whose chop is registered (Korean national, foreigner, Korean with a foreign citizenship) A person of majority must a chop of another adult stamped as a guarantee of the applicant.
3) Where to register: City, gun, or gu where the applicant is domiciled
4) No fee for registration
Issuance of certified chop
1) When appearing in person
Bring alien registration card for foreigners and resident card for those who are foreign nationals but registered with Immigration Office for a stay in Korea.
2) When applying by the applicant’s representative
Bring alien registration card for foreigner and resident card for those who are foreign nationals but registered with Immigration Office for a stay in Korea.
3) Issuing government offices: City, gun, gu offices; eup, myon, dong offices; or branch office
